Tennis Pathway for Long-Term Success

Our club programs utilize the "Kids Tennis" pathway, endorsed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Tennis Canada, to help players learn quickly and successfully. The Kids Tennis system is a developmental tool designed to accelerate skill improvement, enabling young children to transition to the regular court with greater ease.

We focus on cultivating a long-standing passion for tennis by following the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Pathway outlined by Tennis Canada. This framework provides a stage-by-stage approach to developing physical literacy, fitness, and competitive ability, ensuring a well-rounded growth experience for every player.

Why a slower ball for kids?

The progressive ball moves slower and bounces lower, making it easier for young players to control. This helps them develop essential technical skills like grip, setup, impact point, hitting zone, and recovery. Using the Kids ball also encourages longer rallies and highlights the importance of consistency.

Why racket size matters

This is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect, especially for kids. Using the right racquet size (length and weight) is essential for young players to develop racquet head control, stability, and a good feel for the ball—all critical for learning proper ball control. It also helps prevent potential injuries that can occur from using racquets that are too big or heavy for them.

Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD)

Long-Term Athlete Development is about aligning skills and activities with a child's stage of growth. By tailoring the experience to their developmental level, children can enjoy the sport more, which increases their likelihood of staying engaged. When there's too much focus on winning, it can lead to bad habits and poor skill development. Without the right foundation, kids may never reach their full potential and often lose interest, burning out and dropping out of the sport altogether.
